WAHPETON, N.D. — The Central Lakes Raiders pushed head coach Jane Peterson’s win total closer to the 500 mark as they swept a pair of matches from Dakota Bottineau and Dawson in Wahpeton, N. D., reports the Brainerd Dispatch. Alanna Hansen finished with 10 kills and Tiffany Hartung (shown) recorded 18 set assists in a win over Dakota Bottineau, 25-9, 25-12, 25-13. In game one the Raiders finished with a hitting percentage of .380. CLC, ranked in 10th in NJCAA Division III last week, knocked off Dawson, Mont., 25-10, 25-12, 25-16. The Raiders (12-3) increased their hitting percentage to .406 in that game.
“Usually we are taking a break to recoup because it is our half way point,” Coach Peterson told the Dispatch. “It was a chance to play some different teams and I knew that this team would need a challenge. They love to play volleyball and are happy. Ken (Miller, assistant) and I are the only ones who are tired. They played with good energy today.” With the two wins on Friday, Coach Peterson climbed to within one win of 500 as the CLC head coach. The Raiders played two more matches at Wahpeton Saturday and will host MCAC opponent Fond Du Lac Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Brainerd campus gmnasium.
